Impromptu Visit to the Seaside

At breakfast time, we saw the Great Tits on the wall again.

I also saw a Blue Tit but wasn't quick enough with the camera.

Today was a shopping day. At mid morning we headed for Mellac for a fill up of LPG gas. It had lasted a week this time due to the lovely weather and not having to have the heater blasting all the time.

There are lots of big shops at Mellac. Actually it's Kervidinou near Mellac. Today we decided to go to Magasin Vert to see if they had any apple trees. It will be the start of my orchard! My dear friend Marg had given us some money to buy a couple as she loves fruit trees. We went into the shop and were very impressed by it. Unfortunately we had yet again forgotten French lunchtime closing as we had only been in there 10 minutes and the nice shop assistant informed us that they were closed until 2pm.

So we'd have to leave the apple trees  for another day. Chris then suggested we go to Le Pouldu as it was only a few kilometres away and it was by the sea!

So we drove there. It didn't take long. When we arrived we found a parking space. We couldn't believe the view.

It was such a beautiful day and being by the sea was the icing on the cake.

We had our lunch overlooking the sea...

Then went for a stroll along the cliff top.

Gorgeous rugged coastline.

We didn't go too far as we still had all our shopping to do. That's Harvey J in the distance.

We will definitely be back again soon and will bring our walking boots next time.

We headed back to Scaer for groceries and to use the launderette there.

When we got home, it was such a lovely evening, Chris played his guitar in the barn.

Thank you for popping by!

Maggie xx

  4. What a treat to have that coast line so close to you! Looks much like our Oregon coast in spots.

  5. What a wonderful plus to be so close to the coast! And it does look like a great place to walk. I love that little path into the village...great exploring to be had there! An orchard for sure! Wonderful!
