Saturday 28th November
The last couple of days we've seen some pretty wet and windy weather. We've still managed to get outside and do some jobs. Chris has cleared the the leaves from the back gutters and continued with the ongoing task of chopping and splitting wood. I've looked after the goats, planted more bulbs and shrubs and cleared many of the wood offcuts that were lying around in the barn from the time it was used as a saw mill. Inside Chris has been up in the loft of the cottage clearing any debris and replacing insulation boards where needed helping to keep us more toasty. Despite the weather Spencer has been wading in the pond and we've taken him for a walk where we met Pierre's cows who were very friendly and inquisitive.
Thanks for visiting!

Thursday 26th November
Bam Bam and Time have really made a difference. The brambles under the barn have practically disappeared. Now these little goats are forging through the undergrowth at the back of the barn. They love munching on the fresh growth.
Today we went for lunch in Gourin and then to a warehouse called Ty Recoup near Carhaix. It's basically a huge second hand shop. We were looking for bedside cupboards and coffee tables but they didn't have anything that caught our eye. Chris found a bedside lamp for 2€. We will probably go again though as it all depends on what they have in stock when you happen to go.
It's lovely to have your company!

Wednesday 25th November
A day of sunshine and showers. The goats are making a good job of clearing the brambles under the barn and I pulled up some of the roots that were left. Later on I rearranged the understairs cupboard which will be the pantry. Chris was up in the loft clearing out any rubbish and debris.
Late afternoon our electrician popped by for a cup of tea. We then took Spencer for a walk by the windmills.
Thanks for popping by!

Monday 23rd November.
Another sunny day. I caught up with the housework in the morning and our friends Gail and Rod popped round for a cuppa in afternoon. It was great to catch up with them and Gail brought me some of her delicious blackcurrant jam and some veggie leaves for the goats as a treat.

Sunday 22nd November
A gorgeous sunny autumnal day today. After shopping at Carhaix yesterday, today I did some laundry, moved the goats to a sunny spot and planted bulbs whilst Chris chopped and split wood. The tranquility of the day was only marred slightly by the pounding beat of a rave being held beneath one of the windmills. It continued from last night until late this afternoon. Something good came out of it though as I took Spencer for a walk to investigate and met a neighbouring farmer, Pierre, along the way. I introduced myself and we had a nice chat in French. I love to meet and converse with our neighbours and it gave me a confidence boost.
Pierre's cows near the rave.
Thanks for popping by!

Friday 20th November
Our friends Mandy and Len left early this morning to catch the St Malo ferry to Portsmouth. It's been a wet and windy day but very mild. We spent some time clearing leaves and other vegetation from the far side of the barn where lots of water was pooling. We then dug a trench so the water drains into the pond. I'm getting very fond of these little goats!
Lovely to have your company!
